CELEBRATING 10 YEARS .
CELEBRATING 10 YEARS .
For ten years we have gathered with you to put on a play. Our very first production was or, The Whale (2015) aboard the Lehigh Valley Barge 79– before we “sailed” up the coast to make theatre in rural places with local people.
Evermore thanks to all of you who have welcomed us into your community, joined us in creating something special, and gathered to witness the work + the fine people who make it possible. We celebrate you. And we are grateful. Cheers!
Threadbare is based on the coast of what we now call Maine— the ancestral homelands of the Wabanaki, people of the dawn.
Wabanakik means place where the sun first looks our way. We are on indigenous land, still home to the sovereign Tribes of the Wabanaki Nations– the Maliseet, Mi'kmaw, Passamaquoddy, and Penobscot peoples. We invite you to “wonder on” the place where you dwell, the history of the people who have stewarded its land since time immemorial, and the ways we might support their efforts now for land + water protection, restoration, cultural healing + recovery.
